Nairobi: An under-construction multi-storey building collapsed on a neighboring house on the outskirts of Kenya's capital, Nairobi, killing two people.

In the suburb of Ruaca, three additional people living in the family home next to the collapsed structure were found alive.

The early morning collapse is the second such incident this week, and construction officials have issued a warning about illegal building construction in the city and its environs.

In Nairobi, where housing is in high demand and shady developers often flout regulations, building collapses are common.

In 2015, after eight buildings collapsed in Kenya killing 15 people, the presidency ordered a review of all structures in the country to see if they conform to the code. According to the National Construction Authority, 58 percent of Nairobi's structures are unfit for human habitation.
