Second phase of Corona vaccination starts in Nepal

Kathmandu: Nepal has started the second stage vaccination on Tuesday with the Indian-made Corona vaccine 'Covishield'. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the second drive will include journalists, diplomatic mission officials and frontline government employees vaccinated with the corona. Dr. Shyamraj Upreti, Nepal Coordinator of Corona Vaccination Advisory Committee, said that the grants were provided by the Government of India

According to the information, 300,000 frontier journalists, diplomats and government employees will be vaccinated in the second phase. A total of 430,000 doses of the vaccine were planned in the first phase, but only 184,857 people received the vaccine. The second phase of vaccination will continue till Friday and approximately 300,000 persons will be vaccinated in this phase.

The first vaccination campaign started on 27 January. The first phase consisted of first aid workers, sanitation workers, ambulance drivers, and security officers, while in the second campaign, officers from administrative units across the country, employees of land revenue, Survey employees, bankers and journalists are preferred.
