Raipur: Five Maoists have been killed in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. Five Naxalites have been killed in the operation and a massive search operation has been launched in the forests. Two DRG jawans were also injured in the incident and are being sent to the hospital for treatment.

According to the information received, the encounter took place in the forests of Aboujmad area of Narayanpur district on Saturday morning. In the e-bomb operation, security forces killed five Naxals while some others managed to escape amid heavy firing.

Two security personnel were seriously injured in the exchange of fire between the jawans and the Naxals, who have been sent to a local hospital for treatment. A massive search operation has been launched across the region following information about the killing of Naxalites and the forests have been cordoned off in the area.
