Security forces killed Al-Qaeda's commander Zakir Musa

Pulwama: Security forces on Tursday killed  Top terrorist and Al-Qaeda's commander Zakir Musa in an encounter with the security forces in Dadsara village of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

According to the report, a joint team of army’s 42 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the village after receiving intelligence input about Musa’s presence in the area. He had been hiding at the place for the last couple of days. He was reportedly asked to surrender by the security officials, however, he refused and hurled some grenades, triggering a gunfight.

Musa was the chief of Jammu and Kashmir-based Ansar Gazwatul Hind, an Al-Qaeda cell.

Meanwhile, the closure of all schools and colleges across the Kashmir division for  tomorrow has been ordered by divisional administration in Kashmir. Divisional Commissioner Baseer Ahmad Khan said the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure.

According to the Mobile internet services have also been suspended. In view of the situation, additional forces including Army and paramilitary forces have been deployed in the twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama to control possible law and order crisis.
