New Delhi: Farmers' agitation continues against the new agricultural laws brought by the central government. Thousands of farmers have gathered on the Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur borders. Meanwhile, the general budget is to be presented today, about which security agencies are very cautious. Multilayer barricading has been done to ensure that farmers do not travel to Parliament. With this, the Meerut Expressway has been completely closed.
On one side, buses have been parked on the route from Sarai Kale Khan and Pragati Maidan to Akshardham and Ghazipur, while on the other hand, stone barricades have been installed on the road from Ghazipur to Akshardham, towards Pragati Maidan. Keeping in mind that farmers do not come towards Delhi, NH-9 has been closed. Earlier on Sunday night, the Ghazipur border was converted into a fort and now traffic on NH-9 has also been stopped. In fact, before 26 January, the farmers had announced that they would travel to Parliament on 1 February but postponed their foot march after the 26 January violence. Even after this, the police is not in the mood to relax anyone.
