New Delhi: The 73rd Republic Day is being celebrated across the country with pomp and show. Meanwhile, strict security arrangements have been made at various places in Delhi in view of the terror attack alert. The Delhi Police is continuously patrolling the chappals of the capital. Police from neighbouring states adjoining Delhi are also on alert. 27,000 police personnel have been deployed for the security of Delhi on Republic Day. All preparations have also been made to deal with terrorist incidents.
Among the officers of Delhi Police who have been posted are deputy commissioner, assistant commissioner, inspector and sub-inspector. Along with this, armed police forces and central armed police forces (CAPF) personnel are also deployed in the security. According to police, CCTVs equipped with facial recognition software have been installed at major intersections. Apart from this, devices that destroy drones have also been installed.
In order to avoid the situation like last year, important borders like Tikri, Singhu and Ghazipur along Delhi have been sealed. According to police officials, additional outposts have been set up. Let us know that last year the situation had worsened due to the entry of agitating farmers into the Red Fort. Taking a lesson from this, the Delhi Police has sealed all the borders of the capital this year. A senior Delhi Police official said that the entry of all commercial vehicles into Delhi has been banned. Only passed vehicles are being allowed entry.
