New Delhi: The Supreme Court had in July last year issued several directions to the Central and State Governments for migrant workers. The apex court said those orders have not been complied with, as no government has filed replies. The Supreme Court said that migrant labourers who went back to their villages last year and who have returned to the city should have employment or food and drink arrangements.
The court said a mass kitchen should be set up in Delhi-NCR so that no citizen is hungry. State governments will have to respond within a week on the condition of migrant workers and their beneficial schemes. The top court will pass orders on migrant workers by 4 pm today. Meanwhile, Delhi government minister Imran Hussain has received a clean chit from the Delhi High Court in connection with the hoarding of oxygen cylinders. The Delhi HC said Imran Hussain could continue his work if the rules and regulations were not violated.
The Delhi government told the Delhi High Court that Imran Hussain was not given oxygen from the Delhi quota. Aap MLA Imran Hussain also placed the papers for hiring 10 oxygen cylinders before the Delhi High Court. MLA Imran Hussain has also given receipts related to oxygen refill to the court.
