Jashpur: A case of attempt to rape a married woman has come to light in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. According to media reports, the criminal tried to rape the woman by finding her alone in the house and when he could not succeed in his intention, he attacked the victim with a knife.
The woman was injured in the attack by the criminal. However, hearing his voice, people nearby came and then took him to the hospital for treatment. The incident took place in Tapkara police station area. The culprit had fled after the incident but is now in the custody of the police. Based on the complaint of the same woman, police said the 45-year-old woman was alone at home around 2.30 pm on Sunday. I was working daily at home. At the same time, Shravan Sai Paikra (30), a resident of Tapakara, reached there. At first, he stood up and talked to the woman. After some time, he started molesting and then forcibly dragged the woman to the room.
When he dragged the woman into the room, the woman resisted and she started screaming loudly. When the woman screamed, Shravan Sai strangulated the woman. The woman still resisted, so she attacked her with a sharp knife on her neck. But by then people around had heard the woman's screams. On hearing the sound, the neighbours rushed to the spot. But by then the criminal had escaped. A complaint was also lodged with the police about the incident. Two hours after the complaint, the police arrested the culprit.
On the second day of marriage, the groom hanged himself, there was a commotion in the family.
