style="text-align: justify;">The ODI team selecting panel is planning to roll out the 28 year old Ajinkya Rahane in the next two matches. The only departure from the team that has been seen yet is of Suresh Raina due to some illness.

Ajinkya Rahane is probably is the best Test batsman in the team right now with a strike rate of about 51.37, but when it comes to the ODI format of the game he is slightly not good at it presently. The ODI strike rate of the batsman is of 32.71.

This latest series against New Zealand was a good platform for him to prove his worth and dedication towards the short format of the match. But all he scored in the three matches is 33, 28 and 5.

The selection panel will have him over consideration for the rest of the series. MS Dhoni the Indian Skipper said that the Batsman has problem with the Sub-continental pitches in the short over matches.
