Dehradun: Along with Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh are receiving heavy rains. The sights of swollen rivers and bridges in the river are frightening. Pictures of the havoc of nature in Uttarakhand in 2013 are getting fresh. The rain has caused a lot of devastation in Dehradun. Many restaurants and houses built on the banks of the river in the Maldevta area have been flooded. Several bridges and culverts have also been washed away in the dark night. This bridge, which is implanted in the Song river in Dehradun, is also one of them. It was very famous among tourists and locals for its beautiful view. On weekends, locals come to this bridge for selfies. But this bridge has now become a well of death.

If this bridge over the Song River had broken during the day, many people could have come under its purview. It is an alternative route connecting Dehradun with Jolly Grant Airport and is passed by tourists on Chardham yatra with locals. Along with this, there is often VVIP movement on it.

Anand Manwal of village Badasi, who went to the spot early On Saturday morning after receiving the news, how the silence of death has now spread on this most beautiful bridge of Dehradun, says. About 30 to 40 metres of the bridge has been washed away, he said. The view is very dangerous. The two youths were returning to their home in Krishna Vihar in Sauda Saroli after duty, he said about the accident that took place at night. They could not see the broken part of the bridge in the dark and they got immersed in it. According to Anand, there has been a lot of devastation in the villages adjacent to the Song river. Several cattle and some houses were also reported to have been washed away in Kumalda. The fear floating on the face of the boy crying from the forest submerged in the same water was visible on Friday night as havoc on him. When the villagers approached, what he told sobbing was shocking. On the night of Janmashtami, when there was celebration all around, at around 12 o'clock he was returning home on a scooty with his brother. The bridge between Raipur and Thano, which becomes a selfie point for hundreds of persons every day, a little ahead of Dehradun, had turned into a 'well of death' in the dark night. The bridge over the Song river was also washed away from the banks in the scary rains in the entire hilly states including Uttarakhand. The two passed through the bridge as usual and before they could understand anything, they were absorbed in the swollen Song river along with the scooty. Somehow, a boy miraculously came out in the morning and told the whole story of the scary night in front. The other boy, whom he was calling his brother, nothing known about him yet.
