Reaction of various leaders to visit ICIJ's verdict on Kulbhushan Jadhav case

NEW DELHI: The international court of justice (ICJ)'s verdict on the death sentence of Former Indian naval officer and Pakistani jailed Kulbhushan Jadhav has been welcomed by leaders of various political parties. Several leaders including PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu are among them. On Wednesday, the Hague-based International Court of Justice (ICJ) heard the Kulbhushan case, in which 15 of the 16-judge jury agreed in favour of India and stayed Kulbhushan's death sentence. This is being seen as a major victory for India. However, the Indian side is still apprehensive about the security of Kulbhushan lodged in Pakistan's jail.

The court's decision was welcomed by senior leaders in India in a tweet. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, the decision has won "truth and justice" and we welcome the verdict.

Rahul Gandhi welcomed the decision and expressed sympathy to his family and said the decision will bring hope for his release with a happy moment in his home.
