Like her debut song ‘Nee Himamazhayayi Varu’, Nithya Mammen is a breath of fresh air for music lovers. And she's  melodious vocals won the hearts of Malayalam movie buff and music lovers,. Nithya Mammen, might only be four movies old, but she certainly is one of the promising playback singers Malayalam cinema can count on.

When asked about what was the magic that she poured into her debut song ‘Nee Himamazhayayi Varu’, the playback singer says, “I owe it to the team. The song is definitely a brilliant work by Kailas Menon sir. It was an amazing composition. I am blessed to have begun my musical journey with such a talented team.”

‘Nee Himamazhayayi Varu’ wasn’t just a beginner’s luck, and Nithya Mammen proved it when she crooned for ‘Kung Fu Master’ and ‘Sufiyum Sujathayum’. The song ‘Vathikkalu Vellaripravu’ from ‘Sufiyum Sujathayum’ continues to rule hearts. The song embodies the essence of romance and poise of ballad. M Jayachandran has composed the soulful song and Nithya Mammen calls it a ‘blessing’ to have worked with the National award-winning veteran composer. “M Jayachandran sir is a legend. This song was recorded when he was celebrating 25 years of his career. So the song is very special. Also, I came to know that he liked my song ‘Ni Himamazhayayi Varu’,” the young singer adds.

Before wrapping up the conversation, we asked her about the musicians that influenced her while growing up and she says, “AR Rahman, Vidyasagar, M Jayachandran, Ilayaraja, the list is infinite.” Nithya Mammen has come a long way since ‘Nee Himamazhayayi Varu’ and has miles to go and she signs off adding, “As every singer, I want to work with AR Rahman sir and everyone possible.”
