The stock market started on Friday, the last trading day of the week. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 184.79 points, or 0.47 per cent, to open at 39164.64. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 0.46 per cent to 52.60 points, to open at 11568.70. The market has been affected due to the Federal Reserve's decision to keep interest rates near zero for the next few years.

Today, the shares of Dr Reddy, Cipla, Sun Pharma, IOC and Hero Motocorp were open on the green mark. Shares of Infosys, HDFC, HCL Tech, Hindustan Unilever and JSW Steel were open on the red mark. Today all sectors started on the green mark. These include IT, PSU banks, realty, metals, autos, FMCG, pharma, media, financial services, banks and private banks.

During the pre-Open, the Sensex gained 220.57 points, or 0.57 per cent, to 39200.42 at 9.11 a.m. The nifty was up 68 points at 11584.10. The Sensex had dropped 0.82 per cent to close at 38979.85. The nifty declined 0.74 per cent (85.30 points) to close at 11519.25. The stock market started declining on Thursday. The Sensex was down 0.49 per cent at 39111.74, up 191.11 points. The market witnessed a lot of changes.
