Sensex, Nifty trade Lower,   financials stock lag

Domestic shares are trading lower on Thursday, November 12, snapping eight consecutive sessions of gains dragged by heavyweight financials and Reliance Industries. Broader markets outperformed benchmarks with the Nifty Mid-cap and Smallcap indices up half a percent each. Sectorally, Nifty Bank and Nifty Financial Services declined over 1.5 percent each while FMCG, pharma, IT and Auto indices were in the green.

At around 10:30 am, the NSE Nifty was trading weak at 12677, down 0.56 percent, while the BSE Sensex was at 43316, down 0.66 percent or 284 points. Top gainers on the Nifty are Sun Pharma, Cipla, Hindalco, Nestle India and Divis Lab while losers include Coal India, HDFC, ONGC, ICICI Bank and State bank of India.

Airline stocks have been trading positively as the government permitted them to function with 70 percent of the pre-Covid capacity. Indigo, Spicejet shares rallied between 1-3 percent. Shree Cement share price gained 2 percent after the cement major reported a stellar rise in its second-quarter profit to Rs. 547 against Rs. 309 crore, also the revenue of the company increased year on year to Rs. 3022 crore from Rs. 2801 crore.
