Sensex recovers 167 pts in early trade on worldwide cues

The standard BSE Sensex , rallied over 167 points to 25,820.45 and the NSE Nifty improved the 7,900-mark in cautious trade during firm overseas cues. The 30-share index increased 167.22 points or 0.42 %  to 26,415.52. The gauge had expanded 163.66 points in the earlier session.

NSE Nifty recovered the 7,900-mark by rising 51.05 points or 0.65 % to 7,911.80.

All the sectoral directories, led by oil&gas, realty and IT, were dealing in the positive terrain with gains up to 1.42%.

Brokers said, “sentiment remained positive following exit polls at the end of polling in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Union Territory of Puducherry showed BJP winning Assam elections for the first time"

Further, a stiff trend in other Asian markets and overnight gains in the US too had positive crash on domestic markets.

Among other Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei index was up 0.90 % as Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose 0.40 % in morning trade.

The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 1% up in yesterday's trade.
