SHARE MARKET CLOSING UPDATES: Indian equities benchmarks rose on Tuesday, with the Sensex rising by more than 1,500 points and reversing the catastrophe in the previous session. The indexes finished the month up for a second consecutive month, rising more than 3 percent. Financial and banking companies helped the Nifty 50 index reach its biggest monthly close ever on Monday. Due to large risk-off bets placed globally in the previous session, both benchmark indices saw a sharp loss of more than 1 percent.

The NSE Nifty-50 index increased by 446.40 points, or 2.58 percent, to 17,759.30. The 30-share BSE Sensex index reversed those losses to surge 1564.45 points, or 2.7 percent, to 59,537.07.

IndusInd Bank, Tech Mahindra, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Steel, and HDFC were among the other notable gains. The 30-Sensex constituents as a whole closed in the black.  Twelve of the 30 equities that make up the benchmark Sensex increased by more than 3 percent.

After Bajaj Finserv designated September 14 as the record date for sub-division and the issuance of bonus shares, the shares of both Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv rose by more than 5 percent apiece.

Tech Mahindra stock soared 3.96 percent to Rs. 1076.70. ICICI Bank jumped 3.72 percent to Rs. 887.60. Kotak Bank surged 3.46 percent to Rs. 1915.25. Reliance Industries Limited, a major component of the index, increased 1.63 percent to Rs. 2639.10. 2.20 percent more ITC was worth at Rs. 320.30.

In spite of a shaky dollar, the Indian rupee posted its largest one-day rise in a year on Tuesday as a wave of foreign capital poured into domestic stocks.

Brent crude, the international standard for oil, fell 2.60 percent to USD 102.52 a barrel.
