Sensex touches 38,000 points mark for the first time, Nifty moving nearer to the 11,500 all-time mark

New Delhi: Indian equity markets kept on their record-breaking row on Thursday as Sensex at 38,002.41, up by 114.85 points.The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex  touched the 38,000 mark for the first time while National Stock Exchange benchmark Nifty moving nearer to the 11,500 mark, its all-time hike.

Strong corporate earnings and positive global markets assisted benchmark indices and made bigger their record run. The Sensex was hiked over 150 points on the other hand the Nifty added almost 45 points as of 9.20 AM in today morning. Gains recorded in the markets were led by pharma, banking and oil and gas shares. In this record hike Cipla was the top gainer in Nifty,  which up 3.63 per cent followed by ICICI Bank while HPCL, reported strong earnings for the June quarter on Wednesday after market hours, was trading higher by 1.86 per cent. On Wednesday, BSE Sensex domed 221.76 points to close at 37,887.56, while the broader NSE Nifty up 60.55 points to come to an end above the 11,400-mark for the first time.
