Sensex gushed by about 120 points to 28,144;as the Cabinet on Wednesday cleared changes in the GST Constitutional Amendment bill during July derivatives ending.

According to the brokers said, “Sentiment bolstered on hopes that the long-awaited GST Bill may be passed in the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament after the Cabinet yesterday cleared changes in the Constitutional Amendment bill”

The 30-share index was trading advanced by 119.99 points, or 0.42 %, at 28,144.32. The measure had gained 47.81 points in the preceding session.

NSE Nifty rose by 32.85 points, or 0.38 %, to 8,648.65.

In the Asian region, Japan's Nikkei fell 0.69 per cent while Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 0.37 per cent in early trade.

The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.01 % lower yesterday.
