Corona vaccine will arrive in 2021, Serum Institute indicates

New Delhi: Dr. Suresh Jadhav, executive director of Serum Institute of India has clarified that India may get the coronavirus vaccine by March 2021. Talking to a private news channel, he clarified that India is working fast towards developing the corona vaccine. In this direction, many companies are making efforts on a war footing.

He told that 2 of these are in Phase III trials while another is in Phase II trials. Many more companies have joined this race. World Health Organization (WHO) Chief Scientist Dr. Soumya Swaminath has said that the clinical trials of any vaccine fluctuate. He also said that the corona vaccine should be ready by the third month of next year. He further said that from January 2021, we will be able to see its results and hope to have the vaccine ready to fight SARS-CoV-2 by next year's quarter".

Dr. Swaminathan said that after the introduction of the vaccine, 70 percent of people will need to be given the dose so that the link of transmission of the virus can be broken. Addressing the India Vaccine Accessibility e-Summit, Dr. Jadhav said that "Once all the things go in the right direction, then we will be able to produce 700-800 million vaccines per year".
