Setback to Congress, 'cycle' ride, Kapil Sibal prepares to go to Rajya Sabha again

Lucknow: Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal has reached Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow. He reached the Samajwadi Party (SP) headquarters and met party chief Akhilesh Yadav. After this, Sibal reached the Assembly along with him by car for his nomination. Kapil Sibal, who has been in the Congress so far, has filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha on behalf of the SP. According to sources, Kapil Sibal, who has been rebelling in the Congress for a long time, is also going to join the SP.

Recently, Kapil Sibal has released SP leader Azam Khan on bail as a supreme court advocate. Dimple Yadav's name for the Rajya Sabha is also being considered by the SP. At the same time, for Javed Ali, an SP MLA has filed his nomination papers by paying Rs 10,000. Akhilesh Yadav and SP MP RamGopal Yadav were also present with Kapil Sibal at the time of filing his nomination from SP. At present, the SP has a total of five MPs in the Rajya Sabha.  

Among them, the tenures of Kunwar Revati Raman Singh, Vishram Prasad Nishad and Chaudhary Sukhram Singh Yadav are ending on July 4. Talking to the media yesterday, Azam Khan, who is said to be upset with Akhilesh Yadav, had said that if Kapil Sibal is sent to the Rajya Sabha, he (Azam Khan) will be the happiest. He has expressed his gratitude to Kapil Sibal in the past. Azam Khan also said that it will be an honour for any party from which Kapil Sibal will go to the Upper House.
