London: Storm 'Barra' has delivered severe winds, heavy rain, and snow to portions of the United Kingdom, prompting a yellow wind warning.

According to sources, the Metrological department  has warned that the storm might cause travel disruptions, and the weather has already caused the cancellation of some flights and trains in Northern Ireland.  At midday on Tuesday, Northern Ireland Electricity said about 5,500 of its customers were without power. Yellow weather warnings for rain, wind, and snow are in effect for much of the United Kingdom until Wednesday morning, including in Scotland, where the storm threatens to disrupt communities already recuperating from Storm Arwen. Storm Barra hit the UK just ten days after Storm Arwen wreaked havoc and claimed three lives throughout the country.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the country needed to "learn the lessons for the future" and prepare for additional storms like Arwen and Barra. "Storm Arwen was unlike anything we've seen in a long time. It's likely to happen again, and we need to make sure that people are protected "He told the local press.
