Bengaluru: The Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG) has identified a sewage sampling method to detect coronavirus in a particular area. This was reported by the Chief Commissioner of Bengaluru Municipal Corporation last Saturday, November 6. Where he has said that it is going to be ascertained in a way that the coronavirus has increased in the region or not. After recovering from the second wave of covid-19 infection, many states are gearing up for a possible third wave.

Talking to the media, BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta said, 'Sewage sampling has been identified by the INSACOG, which will tell us whether the coronavirus viral load has increased in a particular area.' He also said that the team is going to do more tests to detect positive cases in areas with high viral load. He continued, saying that work is on with some companies.

The commissioner also said that the reduction in coronavirus cases in Karnataka continues. "We are constantly monitoring, including new cases of coronavirus, regular screening of cases active in new mutations, hospitalization, etc," he said. During the second wave, Karnataka has seen a significant increase in the number of corona infected people.
