Anjuna Police busted sex racket, Russian man arrested

On Wednesday, two Russian nationals were arrested by the Anjuna police for running a prostitution racket in Goa. The police have rescued two women trapped in the racket. 

According to the police inspector Chetan Patil said that after receiving a reliable tip-off the police laid a trap and then sent a decoy customer. The reliable sources said that ‘some foreigners’ are running a sex racket at a posh residential complex at Marna, Siolim. After pimp arrived at Anjuna with the women, police officials have apprehended them. During an interrogation, the pimp told police that he and his accomplice runs the sex racket from the Siolim apartment. They both have rented the apartment. 

According to police officials, after knowing about the other accused during an interrogation then police raided the apartment and arrested the other one. The pimps were identified as Vasily Karavaev (44) and Konstantin Aleksandrovich Morozli (36). Police officials also told that they have rescued two Russian women from the apartment.

As per the reports in TOI, the duo had been running the sex racket since from a month. The both Russians used to contact all the potential customers in Goa over phone or internet. They use to call them under the guise of selling books on the beach. The women in the racket were mostly Russians and Ukrainians. 

Police officials further added that after receiving payment in advance, they use to provide the women after a few hours. The rented apartment was also made available to customers. Anjuna police booked the two following relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, and are further investigating.
