Kanpur: A five-member committee has been constituted in the case of physical and mental abuse of a student at STEP HBTI Institute in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The committee constituted at the behest of the Vice-Chancellor, has four STEP HBTI and an HJBTU teacher. Richa Mishra of Presiding Officer of STEP HBTI has been appointed.

Ritu Singh and Suchita Shukla are also members of the committee. In addition, STEP HBTI male acharya Yogesh Mishra has been placed on the committee. The committee was asked to submit a preliminary report by the evening of August 3. The internal committee had called the student for talks on the STEP HBTI campus. According to the student, the committee members had started making her an accused on her complaint. However, some members of the committee admitted that the allegations made by the student were true. In fact, the first-year MBA student STEP HBTI has alleged that she was exploited. The student has accused the assistant professor of the institute of exploitation.

The student had also complained to the VC and the college principal in this regard, but she says no one paid heed to the complaint made by her. The student alleges that assistant professor Sanjeev Mishra makes obscene gestures to her. The student has also accused Sanjeev Mishra of making obscene remarks by making her forcibly video calls and audio calls. Not only that, but the student has also accused Sanjeev Mishra of trying to make wrong gestures with private parts by calling her to his cabin.
