Seychelles President aims to take relationship with India to 'newer heights'

New Delhi [India], June 25 (NT): Seychelles President Danny Faure who is on a six-day State visit to India on Monday stated that his presence in the country is to take the ties between the both nations to "newer heights".

 Earlier Faure warmly received a ceremonial reception by President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his arrival at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

"I am in a great country. The relationship between India and Seychelles is excellent. My presence here is to take this relationship to newer heights," President of the Republic of Seychelles was quoted as saying by ANI.

Faure also visited Rajghat to pay his respects to father of India Mahatma Gandhi.

 According to ANI official engagements of Seychelles President during the India visit from June 22-27, include talks with the President of India Kovind, delegation level talks with the Prime Minister Modi, calls by the Vice President Vainkya Naidu and the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.

He will also address to the India-Seychelles Business Forum.

"The State Visit of President Faure is part of regular high level exchanges between India and Seychelles, and will accord an opportunity to review our wide-ranging bilateral cooperation including in the fields of defence and security and development partnership," MEA statement Relesed earlier imnformed.
