Patna: Opposition parties are attacking the yogi government over making the national anthem mandatory in madarsas of UP. Now the statement of the BJP leader has also come in this case. In Bihar, senior Muslim leader of the party Shahnawaz Hussain has said that there is nothing objectionable in the decision taken by the Yogi Adityanath administration.
Shahnawaz, the industries minister in the same Bihar government, also claimed that in the madarsa where he had studied himself, Jana Gana Mana was happily sung. When asked by the media about the UP Madarsa Board's order, Shahnawaz said, "Was the national anthem not sung in madarsas of UP till now. If so, I'm very surprised. Shahnawaz said, "I myself have studied in a madrasa. There we used to recite the national anthem happily and willingly. There can be nothing objectionable in showing reverence for the nation. ’’
It may be recalled that the recitation of the national anthem before the commencement of classes in madarsas of the UP Madarsa Board has been taken as an exception by some Islamic scholars. These scholars claim that the words of this national anthem written by Rabindranath Tagore are against their religious principles.
