The potato was sown in large part in the district due to good rain and water in the drinking water sources so far and now the potato is reaching the market. Many farmers are selling potatoes to big traders in the fields itself. From where it is being sent to big cities like Delhi, Mumbai. From there, famous domestic and foreign companies buy chips. Due to this, the potato here has become recognized in the country and abroad. In Shajapur district, about 12 thousand ki are taking potato crop. The potato was sown in more than eight thousand hectare area this time.

The new and improved variety of potato chipsona-one has more craze among the farmers. This is considered to be the best for different types of chips. Chips are also preferred due to their size and test. So she buys potatoes from the fields. At the same time, according to experts, the starch in Chipsona variety is less, which is not harmful for diabetes patients. It remains white even after cutting.

Let us tell you that the weather is bad for two-three days. There are chances of rain also. There is Holi in the coming week. So, farmers are now reaching the mandis to sell potatoes. Today, in the Shajapur mandi on Friday, six thousand kattas i.e. about three thousand quintals of potatoes are sold. Prices range from five to 14 rupees per kg. The line of potato-filled vehicles has reached from Beercha Road, Tanki Chauraha, Collector Bungalow to Dhobi Crossroads. Due to this, traffic on one lane on the urban highway has been affected. Farmers encamped on Thursday night itself. So that as soon as the market opens on Friday morning, they can sell their potatoes.
