It’s not easy to get noticed in the music industry. Even if your songs are amazing, there are still lots of hoops you must jump through to become a success. After working hard and persevering, Shane Foster, co-owner of DFD Music, has made it his mission to help other artists achieve their dreams as he did.

Shane is very well-acquainted with the trials that indie artists face. After he came back from the Army with PTSD and a TBI, he felt hopeless and even had thoughts about suicide. But then he realized that he wanted to pursue a career in music, and this lit a fire within.

He met with many music executives and was taken aback by how flippant and rude they were in their rejections. Finally, he decided to work with his friend Davis Chris and start an indie record label, called DFD Music.

DFD Music is a unique label that fosters creative talent and frees them from the requirements of being part of the mainstream music hustle. DFD’s mission statement says that they want to “gain exposure for the artist so that the public gets familiar with them and gets excited to see them perform.” Another point is to “bring a new and innovative artist’s music to the mainstream.”

Shane Foster isn’t just claiming that he can provide these benefits to artists without knowing anything about the industry itself. He’s produced songs for well-known artists like Yo Gotti, Iggy Azalea, Young Dolph, and Moneybagg Yo. He helped co-write the theme song on a movie called Sharon123 and has directed music videos that have aired on BET, MTV, and VH1.

Shane also writes music and performs with his business partner Davis Chris, they just released an indie album through DFD called ‘Hits the Collection.’ The album already has 1.5 million streams on Spotify, and the number is growing every day.

Shane Foster is the perfect person to help today's indie artists rise to the top. DFD Music is bound to be the new home of many amazing performers, most of whom will be heard by many for the very first time.
