Katha- A man named Gopaldas, 300 years ago, dreamt of seeing Shanidev in a temple site and said that his statue was buried in a 20-feet mound. Shanidev ordered Gopaldas to dig the mound and take out the statue. Gopaldas was blind and he spoke to Shanidev in a dream, then Shanidev said, "Open your eyes now you can see everything. When Gopaldas opened his eyes, he could see everything clearly.
Gopaldas then excavated the mound and found a statue of Shanidev there. After which he set up the statue there and began looking after the temple. Since then, the family members of Gopaldas began worshipping Shanidev as a priest. There is no discrimination in worshipping between women and men in this temple.
