Jaikishan, who composed Bollywood songs, was born on this day. Jaikishan Dayabhai Panchal was born on 4 November 1932 in Gujarat. From childhood, he was interested in music and his interest was in playing the harmonium and Jaikishan got his early education in music from Vedalal and also studied classical music from Prem Shankar Nayak. At that time, the passion for making tunes on Jaikishan was so strong that until he composed the tune, he stayed immersed in it. It is said that due to this quality, he made his own style and after that in 1946 Jaikishan came to Mumbai to give a new look to his dreams and started working as a timekeeper in a factory.

During this time, he met Shankar and Shankar used to play the tabla in Prithvi theatre in those days and used to play small roles in theatre plays. It is said that on the recommendation of Shankar, Jaikishan was given the job of playing the harmonium in the Prithvi theatre, and in the meantime, Shankar and Jaikishan started learning music from the musician Husnlal-Bhagatram. Then in the year 1948, Raj Kapoor was looking for a musician for his film 'Barsaat' and he sent an invitation to meet Shankar-Jaikishan. At the same time, Raj Kapoor was impressed by Shankar-Jaikishan's style of making music and offered to give music to Shankar-Jaikishan in his film 'Barsaat'.

After that, in the film Barsaat, their duo gave superhit music like 'Jiya Bekarar Hai' and 'Barsaat Me Humse Mile Tum Sajan' which were super hit songs. At the same time, after the success, Shankar-Jaikishan became successful as a musician and the duo was well-liked with lyricists Hasrat Jaipuri and Shailendra.
