Those who understand this are able to write success stories. And something similar has been done by music director and singer Shankar Mahadevan. After doing engineering, Shankar left his job in a good place and made his art his profession.

Shankar Mahadevan was born on 03 March in Chembur. His mother was fluent in Tamil. Shankar Mahadevan started learning music from the age of five. His first mentor was Shrinivas Khale, a popular Tamil composer. But due to his merit in studies, his parents decided to teach him music as well as engineering. He did engineering in computer science from Mumbai. And after that, worked in Oracle Company for 9 months. Along with the same work, Shankar also tended towards music.

He received the National Award for singing for the first time in a Tamil film with Rahman and also gained recognition in the world of music and in 1998 he sang an album called 'Breathless' which gained immense popularity and gave Shankar Mahadevan superstar in just a night. Shankar Mahadevan has so far worked with many big musicians like AR Rahman, Anu Malik, etc. where Shankar Mahadevan understands and knows classical music equally well, he also plays Western music.
