Shankar Mahadevan is one of the most loved singers, and musicians of the industry. He needs no introduction. His songs are amongst the best songs of Bollywood. Today the veteran singer is celebrating his birthday. On his birthday have a look at his interesting journey.  

Shankar Mahadevan was born in a Tamil Iyer family on 3 March 1967 in Chembur, Mumbai. Mahadevan was fond of music since childhood, he started learning Indian music and Carnatic music from a very young age. He has won four National Awards in music so far. The veteran singer enjoys a massive fan following. Apart from Hindi, Shankar has also sung songs for Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Kannada films.

He started learning music at the age of 5. He did his early education from OLPS School in Chembur, Mumbai. After this, he did his further studies in electrical engineering. His lover for music never decreased. In the year1998, his first album Breathless came and from here his career startedThis album of his became famous, as well as through this album he was recognized in Hindi cinema. 

Shankar then formed a trio with two of his friends, Ehsaan and Loy. Madevan received his first National Award for the Tamil movie Kandokandani Kandokandani with AR Rahman. School Chale Hum on Doordarshan was directed by Mahadevan. He has also appeared as a judge in a reality show Sare-Ga-Ma-Pa Challenge 2009. He has appeared as a mentor, judge in the Star Plus show Musical Maha Muqabla. In 2011, Mahadevan started the Shankar Mahadevan Online Academy. Shankar teaches music to students from all over the world through this online academy. The veteran singer provides music education to students around the world through an online music academy.
