Mumbai: Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, who is facing criticism over allegations made by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, is not facing any difficulties at the moment. According to sources, Home Minister Anil Deshmukh's department could be replaced in view of the controversy. This can be done to convey a message of impartial investigation in the state.
However, the final decision on this will be in the meeting of Maha Vikas Aghadi. In view of the controversies, several NCP leaders have made it clear that Deshmukh will not be resigned. NCP chief Sharad Pawar had to take the field on Sunday. Sharad Pawar had said that the question of Anil Deshmukh's resignation would not arise. However, he had also said that the allegations leveled against Anil Deshmukh would be serious, he would be investigated.
Senior Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said on Monday that if everyone is to resign, it will be difficult to run the government. Sanjay Raut said that if NCP chief Sharad Pawar has decided that the allegations leveled against the Home Minister are not facts, there should be an inquiry. If we continue to resign, it will be difficult to run the government.
