Mumbai: The election for the post of President will be held on 18 July. Who will be the candidate for this post, it has not been decided yet. NDA and opposition are at loggerheads over names. Now meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has forwarded the name of NCP chief Sharad Pawar. He demanded a unanimous decision from each party to elect Sharad Pawar as the next President.
However, Sharad Pawar is not in favor of becoming a candidate. He said in a meeting with NCP leaders that he was not in favor of contesting the presidential election as the opposition candidate. Sharad Pawar said that I am not in the race. I will not be the presidential candidate of the opposition. Sharad Pawar has got the support of AAP and Congress for the presidential candidature. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole said that if Sharad Pawar's name comes up for the presidential election, the party will support him.
Nana Patole said, "If Sharad Pawar's name comes up as a candidate for the presidential election, then Maharashtra Congress is with him." Additionally, AAP said that it would support Sharad Pawar as a candidate for the presidential election. Presidential elections will be held on July 18 and results will be declared on July 21.
