Mumbai: NCP head Sharad Pawar on Tuesday acclaimed UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, her son and party president Rahul Gandhi. He said that people should feel proud of them as they keep on to serve the poor in spite of assassination of late prime ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.

Pawar also cornered Prime Minister Narendra Modi for accusing the Gandhi family of sullying the nation and charged him with doing nothing when innocents were being taken life in Gujarat during his tenure as chief minister of that state.

The former Union minister did not talk about any specific incident in his dialogue, but he was actually mentioning to the 2002 riots in Gujarat.

Launching an attack at the ruling PM Modi led BJP, Pawar alleged the saffron outfit was pitting communities in opposition to each other as it did nothing on the development front as was vowed to the people.

The NCP leader was talking at an event in Satara district which is around 300km from Mumbai.

He also stated some lawyers have raised qualms if the 16 per cent quota granted to Marathas in jobs and education in Maharashtra will stand inquiry of the law and stated the government should ensure the reservation sustains.
