Goddess Katyayani is the Goddess four arms and rides Lion. She is beautified with a sword in one hand and a lotus flower in the other hand. Lion is the vehicle of mother Katyayani. It is said that on this day of Shashthi of Navratri, this form of Goddess is worshiped because of this also because Goddess was born on this date and Maharishi worshiped her.

What to offer - It is considered auspicious to offer honey to the mother.

How to worship Goddess Katyayani  - Honey is very important in the worship of Goddess on the sixth day of Navratri and honey should be used in Prasad on this day. on this day, the picture  of mother Katyayani should be first installed by laying a red cloth on a wooden post. Now after this, worship the mother in the same way as you did for five days of Navratri and now after that chant this Mantra.

चंद्रहासोज्जवलकरा शार्दूलवर वाहना.
कात्यायनी शुभं दद्याद्देवी दानवघातिनि..

After this, offer flowers to the mother with folded hands and worship the mother with hymns and offer Naivedya and chant this mantra 108 times.

ऊं ऐं हीं क्लीं चामुण्डायै विच्चे.
