Mumbai: The stock market opened on Tuesday, the second trading day of the week. Earlier on Monday, the market recorded a tremendous decline. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) major index Sensex opened at 41,044.93 with a strength of 368.30 points or 0.91 percent. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange's Nifty opened with a gain of 100.30 points or 0.84 percent at 12,093.35.

If we talk about the big stocks, then shares of Zee Limited, Vedanta Limited, HDFC Bank, SBI, Adani Ports, Yes Bank, UltraTech Cement, Tata Steel and Asian Paints opened up. The share prices of Infosys, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Wipro, HCL Tech and ONGC declined. If you look at the sectoral index, today all the sectors opened up with the exception of IT.

These include FMCG, Pharma, PSU Bank, Auto, Realty, Metal, Media and Private Banks. The stock market was trading at a green mark at 9:10 am during the pre open. The Sensex was trading at 40,983.04 after gaining 306.41 points, or 0.75 per cent. At the same time, the Nifty was trading at 12,079.10 level with an increase of 86.05 points i.e. 0.72 per cent.
