The stock market opened at a record level on Monday, the first day of the week. Both the Sensex and the Nifty opened at record levels today. Besides, the Sensex was trading at 33,917 on Monday morning with a gain of 33.17 points at 41,978.54 and the Nifty was trading 2.10 points at 12,354.45. At this time, out of 50 companies of Nifty, 27 stocks appeared on the green mark, 22 companies on the red mark and one company shares traded without any change. Shares of these companies saw the fastest in the early trading, out of the 50 stocks of the Nifty companies of the National Stock Exchange, on Monday, the highest in the shares of POWERGRID, BPCL, INFRATEL, TATA MOTORS and ASIAN PAINT. The decline in these companies shares - In early trade today, IOC, WIPRO, KOTAK BANK, TCS and HCLTECH saw the biggest decline among the companies in the Nifty 50.

The Indian rupee opened today with a slight fall on the first day of the week. The rupee today opened 2 paise down at 71.10 against a dollar. It is being told that the Indian rupee closed at 71.08 against the dollar on Friday. In addition, crude oil WTI was up 0.99 per cent on Monday morning at $ 59.16 per barrel and Brent oil was trading up by 1.16 per cent at $ 65.60 per barrel.
