Today's third trading day means the stock market was open on a moderate decline on Wednesday. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 65.45 points, or 0.16%, to 40560.06. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange opened at 11917.40 with a moderate decrease of 17.10 points, up 0.14%.

If the same thing is the heavyweight shares, today the shares of TCS, Coal India, power grid, Britannia and NTPC started on the green mark. The shares of Shri Cement, Tech Mahindra, UPL, Grasim and Titan were on the decline. Looking at the sectoral index, today all categories except pharma and media are open with deficiency. These include FMCG, it, PSU banks, realty, finance services, metals, autos, banks and private banks.

During the pre-open, the Sensex was at 40592.36 after a moderate decrease of 0.08% at 9.02 a.m. The Nifty was down 6.50 points, down 0.05% at 11928. The last trading day was closed with the stock market edge on the ninth day. The Sensex gained 0.08% to close at 40625.51, up 31.71 points. The nifty gained 0.03% (3.55 points) to close at 11934.50. The stock market was open at a flat level on Tuesday. The Sensex started at 40533.04, down 0.15%, and the Nifty gained 0.03% to open at 11934.65 with a moderate lead of 3.70 points.
