Stock market opens with edge, Nifty-50 declines

Today, the last trading day of the week meant the stock market was open with an edge on Friday. The Sensex and Nifty of the National Stock Exchange began at the green mark. The Sensex opened at 40761.97, up 203.48 points (0.50%). The Nifty started at 61.45 points (0.52%) at 11,957.90. According to analysts, further market fluctuations will continue. Therefore, investors should be cautious.

Talking about the heavyweight shares, the shares of Infosys, NTPC, Tata Motors, Tata Steel and Coal India started on the green mark today. Power grid, Hindalco, Nestle India, Bajaj Auto and Bajaj Finance were on the decline. Looking at the sectoral index, all sectors were open with an edge today. These include Pharma, IT, Media, FMCG, PSU Banks, Realty, Finance Services, Metals, Autos, Banks and Private Banks.

During the pre-Open, the Sensex was up 155.44 points, up 0.38% at 40713.93 at 9.02 a.m. The Nifty was up 82.40 points at 11978.90, up 0.69%. On the last trading day, the stock market was closed on the red mark after the day's fluctuations. The Sensex was down 0.37% to close at 40558.49, down 148.82 points, and the nifty was down 0.35% (41.20 points) to close at 11896.45.
