Tharoor dubs BJP as 'narrow-minded'

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], July 17 (NT): Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday criticized Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He dubbed saffron party as 'narrow-minded'.

Tharoor also made allegations to the BJP of 'dividing people on the lines of religion'.

Tharoor told ANI that there is a perception that the BJP, in any case, will turn the polls towards religious polarization , if not now than closer to the election dates.

 Tharoor is the MP from Thiruvananthapuram said that the grand old party Congress helmed by Rahul Gandhi makes every possible effort to strategically resolve each and every matters existing in the country related to communal clashes.

"Congress always tries to be away from the issue of religion because that serves the BJP's interest",  Tharoor said to ANI.

Tharoor told ANI further pointed fingers at the Modi-led Central Government for failing to fulfill its  voting promises such as controlling inflation, resolving agricultural crises etc.

The  senior Congress leader who allegedly facing murder charges of his wife Sunanda Pushkar case also asserted that in the upcoming elections the electorates will not vote for the ruling party BJP because of the sluggish economic growth, rising fuel prices of food products and collapse of export and manufacturing.(NT)
