New Delhi: The election for the post of Congress national president is scheduled to be held on October 17. Earlier, Congress Lok Sabha MP and presidential candidate Shashi Tharoor said that some Congress leaders want to stop him from contesting elections. For this, he also spoke with Rahul Gandhi. However, Rahul did not listen to him. Shashi Tharoor said that recently he himself met Rahul Gandhi.

During this meeting, Rahul Gandhi himself had told him that some Congress leaders had asked him to ask Tharoor to withdraw his nomination. But, Rahul Gandhi refused to do so. According to Tharoor, Rahul Gandhi said he would not do so. Shashi Tharoor has told that Rahul had said that he wants me to contest the elections. Because he believes that it will benefit the party itself. Tharoor also said that party workers who are very strong will vote for their choice.

Let us know that leader Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Shashi Tharoor are in the fray for the election of Congress President. Recently, Shashi Tharoor said that he is also ready for an open debate on the post. Because this will increase the interest of people in the party. For example, it was recently about the election to the leadership post of the Conservative Party in Britain. At the same time, Kharge has clearly said that he does not want to get into it.
