New Delhi: The CBI has opposed Indrani Mukerjea's bail plea in the Supreme Court in the Sheena Bora murder case. The CBI has said that Indrani has committed the heinous crime of killing her own daughter and she does not deserve any leniency. The petitioner has planned and murdered his own daughter Sheena Bora. Indrani, after committing such a heinous act, does not deserve leniency from this court.

CBI says that if Indrani is granted bail, she will threaten or influence witnesses. The investigating agency says that Indrani is undergoing proper treatment in jail and she cannot be granted bail on this ground alone. The CBI further said that the jail authorities of Byculla Women's Prison, Mumbai have 24-hour medical facilities for any emergency. Due treatment and due attention is being given to the petitioner by the Byculla Jail authorities. Also said that sufficient evidence to prove the guilt of Indrani and other accused is beyond doubt.

The probe agency further said that the prosecution has a strong apprehension that being a British national, Indrani may flee the country. The offense committed by the petitioner is extremely serious in nature and he is not entitled to any mercy from this court on medical grounds. The CBI fears that if the accused is released on bail, she may abscond, which will seriously impede the ongoing trial of the case as an accused in the British National. Along with this, she can tamper with the prosecution evidence and threaten the prosecution witnesses.
