The Enforcement Directorate has sent a summons to actress Shilpa Shetty's husband, Raj Kundra, in a case related to underworld don Iqbal Mirchi. The ED has called Raj Kundra for questioning in Mumbai office next Monday. On 22 October Humayun Merchant, close to the underworld don Iqbal Mirchi, was also arrested. Humayun has been arrested in connection with illegal property, business relations and political nexus.

According to media reports, Ranjit Bindra is the director of RWW Developers Pvt Ltd, who has been arrested by the ED. Ranjit Bindra was allegedly acting at the behest of Iqbal Mirchi and had played a key role in negotiating a property deal for him with Humayun Merchant, Mirchi's associate. According to sources, information has been received about the deal between Bindra's real estate company RKW Developers Private Limited and Essential Hospitality Limited. Shilpa Shetty is the director in Essential Hospitality. It has a bargain of about 225 crores.
