Actors Shine Shetty and Nandita Swethaa have teamed up in a short flick that is a dedication to frontline workers. The two-minute film, which is titled Mask, has been directed by Prasad Kanteerava. “All of us are fortunate to be in the safety of our homes and have various wishes of wanting to attend family functions and weddings. But little do we realise that these frontline workers too have families and have the same desires and dreams as us. The least we could do when they are braving such dangers, is to stay home and mask up when we step out in times of absolute need,” shares Shine, who plays a cop in the film.

Shot in Subramanyapura at a police station and a hospital, it has Nandita and Shine playing a married couple. The project was also filmed with minimal crew and none of the actors shared scenes, and shot individually for their portions. Nandita, who returns to Kannada cinema after a significant time, says she’s happy to be associated with the project. “It’s for a cause and above all, an ode to such an important set of people who are functioning as a mask for society and safeguarding all our lives,” she sums up.
