Shirdi Saibaba Trust opens its treasury to help Maharashtra flood victims

Shirdi: The devastation caused by the continuous rains over the past few days in Maharashtra has so far claimed the lives of more than 30 people, while many were left homeless by the rain, and many have been devastated. The Shirdi Saibaba Trust has come forward to help the flood victims of Sangli and Kolhapur districts.

The Shirdi Saibaba Trust has announced an assistance of Rs 10 crore for the flood victims of Sangli and Kolhapur districts, after which the Bombay High Court has also allowed the trust. It may be mentioned that the Shirdi Saibaba Institute had sought permission from the Bombay High Court for financial assistance to the flood victims, which has now been granted by the Bombay High Court with the additional assistance of Rs 2 crore to the trust along with financial assistance of Rs 10 crore.

The amount that the Shirdi Saibaba Institute will provide for the flood-affected people will be jammed in the Chief Minister's Assistance Fund. An additional amount of Rs 2 crore will go to the collectors of Sangli and Kolhapur. This amount will be provided for the purchase of sanitary material. The assistance, which is being provided by the Shirdi Sai Baba Trust, will be deposited by August 17 with the collectors of Kolhapur and Sangli districts.
