New Delhi: On the day of Republic Day, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has come out openly in support of Deep Sidhu accused of violence in the Red Fort. Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa has revealed a shocking disclosure. He said that the day Deep Sidhu was taken on remand, I spoke with him on call. Sirsa also said that we will provide legal help to Deep Sidhu so that he can come out of jail as soon as possible. I have assured him that DSGMC will provide all legal help.

Sirsa tweeted that 'many people called me to ask about Deep Sidhu's relationship. I want to update all of you that on the day he was taken on remand, I spoke with him on my phone. He is completely fine. I have assured him that DSGMC will provide all legal help and ensure that he comes out of jail soon.'

On 26 January, there was violence at the Red Fort in Delhi under the guise of a farmers' tractor rally, in which Deep Sidhu was also involved. Sidhu was on the run since this happened. The police had declared a prize of Rs one lakh on him. On 9 February, the Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested Deep Siddu from Zirakpur in Punjab. Before his arrest, many of his video messages were revealed.
