Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patron Parkash Singh Badal has been admitted to a private hospital in Punjab's Mohali after he felt breathing problems. Media reports quoted hospital sources as saying that the 95-year-old veteran politician is under the supervision of doctors. Expressing concern over the health of Parkash Singh Badal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also said that he has discussed the matter with SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Home Minister Amit Shah wrote in his tweet that, "I am worried to know that veteran leader Shri Prakash Singh Badal ji is unwell and admitted to the hospital. I had a telephone discussion with Sukhbir Singh Badal ji regarding his health. I pray to God for his speedy recovery. " According to media reports, Parkash Singh Badal was admitted to the hospital on Sunday. Former Punjab CM and five-time MLA Parkash Singh Badal was admitted to the hospital in June last year after complaining of gastritis and bronchial asthma.

In February 2022, he was taken to a private hospital in Mohali for a post-Covid health check-up, during which his heart and lungs were also examined. He was admitted to a hospital in Ludhiana in January 2022 after being found to be Corona infected.
