Ujjain: Expansion work has been going on for the past several months at the famous Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain. Now, in the same vein, a huge Shivalinga and a statue of Lord Vishnu have been found during excavation last Tuesday (August 10, 2021). In addition to these two, an ancient wall has also been seen about 4 metres below the ground in the southern part of the temple. The wall is said to be about 2,100 years old. On the other hand, the investigation into the Shivalinga found by the archaeological team is underway, and after investigation, the mystery about the ancient temple here will be solved.

Let me tell all of you that the labourers engaged in the expansion work informed the Committee about the shiv linga being found. It was then reported to the Archaeological Department. Officials of the archaeological department who reached Ujjain last Wednesday morning studied the excavation statues. Meanwhile, archaeological officer Dhruvendra Jodha said of shillings, "This Shivlinga is about 5 feet. It is as much underground as it is on the ground.''

At the same time, he said, "This water-bearing Shivalinga of the 9th-10th century is Parmar period.'' Moreover, the bricks that are visible around the Shivlinga are said to date back to the Gupta period, the 5th century. At the same time, ''a 10th-century quadrilateral statue of Lord Vishnu, which is in a stationary posture, has also been found here.''

Let us also tell all of you that during the expansion of the Mahakala temple, the 11th-12th century temple is buried under the ground in the northern part of the temple, which includes pillar section, peak bhang, chariot cannabis, Bharwai kichak. At the same time, an ancient wall 4 metres below the ground has been found in the southern part of the Mahakal temple, which is believed to be about 2,100 years old. The architecture and artistry of the temple are said to be very beautiful by looking at this wall, however, no major information has been revealed so far about the temple going underground.
