Lucknow:  Nearly two months after the Uttar Pradesh assembly election results, Shivpal Yadav has now started work on restructuring his Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (SP). Shivpal Yadav has announced the state presidents of 9 wings including the Students' Union, Lohia Vahini at Praspa on Friday. ON Friday, SP chief Shivpal Yadav announced the names of state presidents of the Students' Union, Lohia Vahini, Youth Brigade, Backward Classes, Mahila Sabha, Cultural Cell, Advocate Sabha, and Teachers' Association.

Shivpal Yadav had separated from Akhilesh Yadav and formed a new party in 2018. But in the UP Assembly elections 2022, Shivpal Yadav had formed an alliance with Akhilesh Yadav. Shivpal Yadav had contested the assembly elections from Jaswantnagar seat on sp's symbol. However, Shivpal Yadav did not merge his party with the SP. However, after the election, the rift in the relationship between the two started growing once again. The two were also constantly seen making statements against each other.

After the UP election results, there were reports that Shivpal Yadav may stop the BJP. Shivpal Yadav had also met CM Yogi. However, there was no talk about Shivpal Yadav joining the BJP. Meanwhile, amid speculations that Shivpal Yadav would join the BJP, Akhilesh Yadav had also attacked his uncle. Akhilesh had said Shivpal was in touch with the opposition party. Responding to Akhilesh's statement, Shivpal had said, "Our leader (Akhilesh Yadav) feels that I am with the BJP, then remove me from the party immediately."
